If some might be in consideration of the possibility that the discussion is hijacking the IOM thread, they might include evidence that whatever it is you people are arguing about has gone on for 6 Days, 5 pages and 80 forum posts.

IOM World Championships - Prohibited Event?

Attached pic showing a recent, annual, "Isle Of Man" World Championships (won in 2017 by David Watt), which has been going on in the Isle Of Man for several years.

World Sailing/IRSA needs to crack down on this sort of thing and declare this a prohibited event, otherwise unsuspecting IOM skippers may enter, and even, (if they won), legitimately claim to be IOM World Champion.

Maybe it would be sufficient, and less confusing, if IRSA could simply persuade the organisers to rename the event as the "Alternative IOM World Championships"?

Saw this championship some years ago - in this case they were not even calling this an Optimist championship!!! World Sailing should do something, no one should be allowed to tweak class rules!!!

Our Club has ORIGINAL SC4 hull and deck molds, by BG, that we could sell. Important issue is that you need to pay BG a license fee for any hulls produced. Quality molds in good condition. Located in Australia where they were designed and created.

Hull is 188mm wide and BG said, with a raised front deck, it could produce a quite good hull. No design dimensions either.

Prohibited events

A follow up on the posts on prohibited events.

The European Commission has just ruled that a ban or penalty on participants in prohibited events is illegal.
Quite a bombshell for international sports organisations.

Good news for the rest of us.

I am quoting from an item in todays news.
