Thanks guys.

Just got home after a 20 hour drive. I had a great time and my Britpop was flying.

Congratulations Tony, it was great racing with lots of races having five boats darn near overlapped at he finish. Rounding the last mark in the lead was no guarantee that you had it won, lots of positions were changed on the last leg.

It is a fantastic location, big lake, close motel, close restaurant, close bar, and good friends.

Ted

p.s. Missed having "Aqua Bunny" there though.

I am not sure exactly what happened to Craig, I know he got hit and broke a shroud in one race, other than that I have no idea.

Question: I see that on my IOM rigs theres a mark were the shrouds attach to the mast similar to the lower point and upper point marks. I looked in the class rules about were the shrouds attach but couldent find a rule (may have missed it). Can I attach the shrouds to the mast anywere I like?

Cheers.

yes, but just one set. And spreader location or even to use them or not, is also optional.

IOM Shroud attachment.

Hi "D",
Interpretation 2011-IOM-2 provides some guidance regarding shroud attachment and allowed adjustability.

Also, Graham on Hornby has posted (on WCMYA site) about his testing of a simple adjuster made of a plastic wire tie around the front and sheet line connecting the back of the mast.

His Brother Martin explainsed, "It is made with a piece of
zip tie with two hole drilled into the ends and lashed to the mast, lashing to
the rear so the sail does not hang up on it. The hounds height is used to get
the rig to self correct for the conditions. In gusty wind you want the mast to
bend off more and give relief in the gusts so the boat is easier to sail. In
steady winds you move the hounds up and power up the rig."

See you at the lake,
Warren

Speaking of Forums, check out the debate on the rules change going on at the IOMICA website. If you haven't voted please do so.

Personally I am against formed sails and voted against this change.

Some of you experienced home builders may want to hop on over to this Topic to help out, although it looks like he is doing a pretty nice job already:
