I've just built 2 IOM "Goth's" from Frank Russell here in Australia. Excellent boat, which of course follows current thinking - very narrow with chines.

If you are interested in other classes he has plans for most including an updated flat panel Marblehead I'm in the middle of building. (New here - sorry about getting a bit off topic).
Hi and welcome,
If you can put some pictures up of your IOM's that would be great also if your building a Marblehead we would like to hear about it put that up in the Marblehead racing section please so we can stay on topic!

Ref the Goth racing at Castle Semple in Scotland. This was a straight off the blocks new build which has yet to show its full potential. The builder/sailor has only recently come into radio sailing and is still getting to grips with the brain to thumbs techniques, but he is a leading light at international level in many full size classes over the last few decades. The very difficult conditions did not help show off this design. It certainly has potential if in the right hands and in more settled conditions.

Hi slotracer557,

I've built both boats exactly to plan. I take it you mean the fin being further forward than most.
I've had a couple of enquiries from others here in Oz about the potential for the boat to be a bit nosedivey. It hasn't been a problem in any wind condition to date. Though I haven't sailed it in "C" rig conditions. I've found the good thing about the boat is it sits comfortably on the start line with virtually no forward motion and tack's easily at very low speed, so the balance is pretty well spot on.

I'd be happy to reccommend a build to anyone.

Hi Peter,
there are two sets of results as the race on the Saturday is completely separate to the one on the Sunday. In the UK we have 3 of these weekends plus the Nationals, 7 races in all with your best 4 counting to give us our final ranking position. The system works quite well and cuts down on travelling.
I believe that Oliviers BritPOP! that won the French Nationals was one made by Denis Astbury in Brazil.
