Mike,

I was talking with the guy Hobby Bench the other day because they have alot of Dave Brown spinners there for sale. He said he's never had a problem like yours and that he "keys" the spinner, then balances on a prop balancer by drilling out areas on the back plate.

Hate to see you out $50!

Chad I messed around with it alittle more tonite, I dont think its the spinner. I think the fuse resonates funny, being all fiberglass. I ran it up changed some stuff and its fine. It should have a good growl in the air!!! I have to post this pix someone just sent me, I dont think its from last weekend, but the pix is so cool. Though its not a p-51

Was able to get another flight in today with no issues. My flap to elevator mix was perfect with 45 degrees of flaps. One gear hung up but was able to cycle it again and got it to unstick. Why it stuck I have no idea, the spinner seemed fine. Just has a strange resonance around half throttle, but I kinda like it. Something is alittle out of balance but not an issue. Here are some pix from the AEF without the cone on...

Mike,
I am glad to see it is working out for the Mustang. I am nearing completion, and left the pull-pull setup in place. Could not agree more that doubling the wires is not the best option, but I will see how it works. Seems odd though! Also the wires rub the guide tubes and I am sure will eventually cut through, but it might take a while to do so.

I know this is about glow to electric conversions, but I am putting an Evolution G26 gas engine on mine. Should be plenty of power.

Is there any secret I need to know about setting up the retract system? I have the tubing run, etc but don't know how to charge the system or that stuff. I guess there might be a thread on that as well.

Since we moved to San Diego this summer, I did not make it back to the electric festival, though it was always one of my favorite events. It amazes me the types of airplanes you see out there and everyone is so nice.

Pics look great and I want to hear more about your bird! Looks awesome.

You need to "T" the filler valve in with the tank. I dont use the filler valve that comes with the kit, I use quick disconnect fillers. You can get them at Tamjets. I also used robart silver thumb screws over the air lines. You can get them at tower hobbies, really keeps all the fittings from leaking. I use about 90 psi and also put restrictors on the down and the up, otherwise they will really snap when you retracts or unretract. They work great, why I had one hang up today I still haven't figured out, but I will bench test it and see!

Its a Dave Brown, It seems to be balanced but the plane makes some resonating sounds that I think could be from the fiberglass fuse. It actually sounds cool, as long as it doesn't get worse.
