GWS FW-190 (not EPO)

Recently i am building my second non Epo Focke. This time i am suprisied about the quality of the two main wing parts. For me it looks like as i have to different type/quality of wing halfs?! One side is more sharpless like the other. Pls. see my pictures..

Does anyone had the same experience?

Hi BigBuck,

Very sorry to know that this half wing was not moulded well enough at its root. Hopefully it can be better by gluing balsa or depron piece, and sanding.

Regards,

Chen

I will show this to QC.

Hope they can read and check to see why?

Was that caused by shocked damaged during transportations?

I looked at the pictures very carefully and really do not see any "FOAM" differences (Material Differences).

It looks like on side at the frontal root sustained some kind of handling scoof marks and for me is nothing major.

If you would have said that the wing half was warped then, that would have been more serious.

That gap could be filled with light weight spackle and a little sanding and possible paint or not.

Looks good to me!

BigBuck, I see what you mean by the two halves looking different. One side looks perfect, the other side has rounded edges.

Yes, spackel will fix the problem, but I don't like the idea of having to fix a new model.

I've built many GWS planes and have not seen this before.

Kevin.

My FW 190 was the same i just filled with light weight filler and sanded to finish no big deal.

But the cowl's sheesh they do need to be slightly thicker plastic.

Jeff look in the FW thread where you guys were discussing the cowls and there is a guy in there who did a real nice retract mod on the FW w/ pics included.

Alan
