Is is just me, or is a Zagi Nocturnal?

So, lotsa flights on the Zagi Today (4 at about 10am, and 4 at dusk between 7-8pm) and I couldn't help but notice that over the last week or so, It always seems to fly a little better in the evening.

I've never noticed this with any of my other planes - Is it just me, and is there a good reason for this?

Thanks!

By golly there sure is!

The mornings tend to be more humid and the more moisture there is in the air, the more it displaces air molecules.

Ahem..... Professor Adnauseum has taken the podium.....

A real live airplane must roll much longer on takeoff if the ambient air temperature is higher than the standard of 72 degrees fahrenheit. Reason being, the heated air molecules are farther apart. If you throw in humidity - the moisture or water in the air displaces some of the air molecules as well, compounding the effect. The "lift" factor/efficiency in an airfoil is dependent upon the number of air (not water) molecules that it flows through......

Ergo.....

It is best to fly on a cool crisp day with low humidity because the air molecules are closer together and there is no moisture (instead of air) to act on our wing. Typically you will see a bit of "drying" of the air as the day wears on and near sunset it can be the most pronounced. Granted, there are conditions that blow this all to hell if you live near a big body of water, or there is a weather system sucking moisture in off the Gulf/Pacific/Great Lakes etc.....

Is that clear as mud?

I thought so!

Ergo.....

I'm not crazy (well, I shouldn't say that, but at least when it comes to the Nocturnal Zagi).

Thanks for clearing that up!
