I haven't flown a brushed motor in years but I am guessing that the brushes are going out. How many flights are on the motor?

Sounds like LVC is tripping. The battery very likely needs to be cycled again, or you need to go lipo and a GWS 10x6 prop

Crappy battery. If NiMh and a few cycles does not improve > replace.

This once happened to me with one of my cars. what i did was reverse the motor wires to the esc and then flick the reverse switch on your transmitter. worked for me.

That shouldn't work, as cars aren't the same as planes. Reversing the polarity to the motor will recerse it's rotation direction, therefore, causing negative thrust. Reversing the Tx will also cause the motor to run at WOT when the Tx stick is at idle.

RC gar radios are setup so the throttle trigger travel is equal in both directions, and the ESC's made for RC cars are setup for specifically that. Pull the trigger back, and it will give it +100% throttle, however, push it all the way forward and it will give it -100% throttle. Our aircraft radios only have 0-100% throttle, not -100% to 100%
