Hi Francesco,

have you tried to contact MPX dealers in Italy?:

Yes, I called the shop in Florence. They don't have the xeno prop, but a MPX foldable 9x6 one (I believe it is for the easy glider), and the girl did not know if it would fix on Xeno.

So I will go to the shop with the broken propeller and check if it's ok.

Thanks again...I believe from your answer that nobody else on this thread broke the propeller!

Actually, it was not easy, but I could!

Alternatively you should be able to use Aeronaut Cam Carbon 9x6" blades, if those are easier for you to get.

Great! If I cannot find the MPX original spare part, I will get the Aeronaut Cam Carbon (they are easily available in Italy)...

Danke!!

Here I am again...

I burnt the original speed controller of xeno (polarity inversion...), so I am thinking to replace it with an Hobbyking regulator, much cheaper (the original one costs more than 60 €).

I am speaking of the 30 A esc contained in the tuning power set (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=MPU332655).

I would like to replace it with an HK 30A, something like this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ontroller.html

Is it possible?

Hello,
I just ordered the new Xeno Uni Kit, because I have a 30A ESC laying around. So, the only thing I need is a motor for the included 8x5 or an 9x6 prop I also have.

I also have an Graupner 300z 7,4 motor here, but I think it is too weak. Or may this motor be OK? What motor may work from hobbyking? This e.g.:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=7992
or
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=19036

Thanks
Bodo

Xeno I built. Tired of waiting on the himax motor from the tuning kit so installed a turnigy 3530-1460kv on 9.5*5 & 9*5 aeronaut cam carbon props. Had to cut the x mount down and ca'd it in place & all the edges and use longer screws plus had to cut the shaft so the spinner was flush like standard.

Had a fusion motor 2829/13 - 930kv in there 1st as I brought my xeno with the power pod but only received a 3mm collet, so for 1st flight my friend really had to give it a good throw as not enough power in the motor for me to launch. No vertical on this setup and made slow circles to gain height.

Not flown with the turnigy yet but static power it really feels like a different plane. Just holding the wing and powering up to 1/2 throttle it wants to get off now out of your hand. My aim is to get height very quickly and than glide/thermal around. Also it's nice to have a lot of grunt just to match the looks, there's always throttle control

Does anyone have the canopy from the glider version? I crashed my Xeno today and broke the canopy. If you're willing to sell it, please reply to this post, PM me, or E-mail me at bnspencer@verizon.net

Thanks,
Brad

Gravity is patient............
Just ordered a Xeno today from tower hobbies as an early christmas present. I found the plane because I use Aerofly 5.7 sim software and it's a blast flying the Xeno in that sim. Highly recommend that sim if you have the coin (it's expensive) it's the best I've seen and I've seen most of them.

Couple of questions

Why not just make some wire standoffs to protect the servos? Or does anyone make a servo cover that might fit? Seems a more logical approach than modding the top of the wing for top mounted servos.

Why not handlaunch sidearm off one wing tip?

What's the typical setup? I am not using the mpx power set, I'll be supplying my own. I've skimmed the thread and I've seen 3s lipo, 30amp esc and 1400kv motor. Is that about right? I assume the 9x6 prop is what most use. Is there a premium setup that anyone wants to recommend?

Is enlarging the stabilizers important? Does anyone sell larger ones aftermarket or is that strictly a user mod?

The multiplex tuner option needs to come down in price. Not to mention it's backordered everywhere anyway.

You can buy the kit with the electric conversion for $69 from towerhobbies. ($10 more than the std kit)

You can buy the himax 2816-1220 motor from ALLERC for $59. You can buy a 25 amp CC speed controller for $57 from ALLERC too and get free shipping.

That makes the tuner kit effectively cost 10+59+57 or $126 instead of the $169 towerhobbies wants for it and get a better quality speed controller.
