Perhaps it depends on the type of epoxy used (Hobby City 5 minutes ) but when I pull off the epoxy, half the underlaying Elapor comes off also. Even when it's freezing. The Elapor wasn't failing, the motor was glued with epoxy and ripped the complete rear came with it when it hit the ground.

I'll "stick" to epoxy.

I'd switch to a good quality CA, Elapor and CA are a match made in heaven. I never use epoxy on foamies for structurally important glue joints, epoxy always seem to give way over time.

Cheers,

Sander.

Most of my foamies crash (most of the times mid-airs during dog fights) before the glue looses it's strength.

Flew my Xeno today (-6°C/2 Bft) to test power consumption. Mounted the Eagle Tree Systems eLogger v3 and flew for 8 minutes almost full throttle all the time. Power used was only 718mAh. So with my 2000mAh it would be possible to fly at least 20 minutes at full throttle. No need for any more batteries besides the two I own now.

This was with a Turnigy 3530-1100kV and APC-E 9x6". Next week my 3530-1400kV will arrive and I will retest with a APC-E 8x8".

8 minutes and only 718mAh? That's an average current of less than 5.4A. What is your current draw in static conditions?

Jurgen .... any chance you could get me a link for operating instructions for the BL-30 S-BEC ESC supplied with the power set ..... I didn't get any instructions with the kit so I used the words from another set of instructions I have for numerous BL esc's (every Amp size included except the 30A one for the Xeno) ....... I would like to have the proper instruction sheet just for record purposes .....

I have searched the MPX DE site with no luck ....

I was amazed too. Static the motor draws 15,9A. But in flight the power drops after acceleration. The figures from the eLogger do match the capacity when recharging the LiPo: 760mAh charged (including balancing, on a Graupner Ultra Duo Plus 50).

Ok, we all know that the current usually drops in flight, but from almost 16A to just over 5A? That would be very amazing.

Perhaps you can lower this figure by going even faster.

I did 9 flights yesterday ......... yes I'm back in the air following some mods which I will post details of, after I get another 29 successfull flights ......

9 flights on 1,000 mAh lipos ...... not fast flying but some good fun and all the batterys took around 800 mAh's on charging which I thought was very good ...........

Nah, power vs. speed. A faster 1400kV motor is on it's was. The APC-E 8x8" came in today. That should draw around 20A at 110km/h. I was also looking for reasonably priced EDF, something about 55/68/75mm that does around 450W on 3S. Or perhaps two EDF's, sounds better.

By the way, Natterer Modellbau has a good deal for the Xeno as a combo with the Tuning Set: €159,90. That's only €20,00 for the Xeno as per €139,90 for the seperate Tuning Set.

Or for those who are tempted subscribing to a German model magazine, you could even get a Xeno as a Freebee:

Okay, one free Xeno on it's way. I was in doubt getting a subscription to either FMS Magazine or Modell Magazine. You made the decision quite easy.

Thought I might get some more flights in today but just the one ..... eight minutes in a 12 knot wind .... damp and cold and not much fun ..... I now have 10 flights and 80 minutes air time with the new arrangement and still looking good ........

A couple of photo's taken today to show the final 'Deco' job .....
