Lol. 'Scary piece of equipment'.
Looks pretty crap to me, I'd much prefer a well built FPV set up.
I fail to see anything scary about it.

I havent watched any current affairs programs (with the exception of ABC and SBS) for years now. Ever since I watched 2 consecutive reports about martial arts one night - the first interviewed a man in a Brisbane martial arts school who had a shaved head and tattoos, and responded to a question regarding why he participated with an answer along the lines of "so I can look out for myself because Ive been picked on before" (ie: self defense) and the reporter's commentary was basically about "reckless attitudes like these being dangerous"... The very next story was about twin girls about 13 years old that were champions in sport-based martial art (I forget which). When asked a similar a similar question, they responded with what I thought was a far less mature answer about kicking ass (in the sport) and the reporters comments were basically "Aww how sweet - good luck girls!"... From that moment on, I realised commercial current affairs programs had abandoned any sense of objectivity in their reporting, and I do agree that lately, they few clips I have seen seem to be almost infomercials...

If you must watch news and current affairs, go with the non-commercial channels. You might actually learn what's going on in the world rather than who Britney is dating these days

On a related rant, I noticed on NineMSN yesterday that their head story was, "Why would I want to kill her? - Millionaire hits back at honeymoon murder rumors"... The far smaller story underneath? "North Korea fires on the South". Where's the priorities there?

I doubt the general public that watch that show has the attention span or intellect to connect that gadget with anything we are doing. Most wuffos that see me have no understanding of what im up to even after I explain it.

Now, this could be a huge noob question... Are you only able to buy 2.4GHz radios these days? I've been searching around for 72mhz Futaba's and the like with no luck...

I'm guessing it's old technology so no one is making them anymore?

You still can get 36mhz (not 72mhz for USA) but its getting harder, been looking for a synth 36mhz futaba module for like a year for my mate with no luck.
2.4ghz is the way everyone is going now.
Hard to find any non 2.4ghz stuff at the local hobby shops these days.

Anybody at all want an Eagle Tree Airspeed Sensor?
If yes, make me an offer. Don't want much for it.

Yes, I know it's upside down.

Face,
There was a reason I didn't recomend the 2.5W version. However at that power for video, I think that the trouble to get the separation from reciever and TX on a car may cause you greif. I'm prety sure the car you want to use is not a 1:1 scale.

Hey guys, i'm interested in getting into FPV. Is there anyone around Melbourne who wouldn't mind me tagging along next time you go for a flight?? Of course there would be a heap of noob questions to answer.
