Micro DH-2

This is a plane that me and my Dad built using the guts of a P-51. This is a link to my thread in Indoor Micro section of the build:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1122519

DH.2 SPECIFICATIONS:

Wingspan……… 13 3/8’’
Length…………. 11 13/16’’
Weight…………. 27 grams
3 or 4 channels
Thread or push rod controls

This is a work of love and a lot of fun doing this.

Scott and Mike

Vid of the DH2 flying. This one was taken at the KC fun fly at the TWA air museum.

The new guy
I priced out the parts you'd get in a P51 to make these planes and it seems that it's a ton cheaper to just buy a P-51, which is what I assume most of you folks did. So... is this something you do after you've crashed your P-51 and the body is no longer fixable or somewhere in the Arizona desert is there a miniature bone yard of unflown P-51 bodies?

Yea these are usually parts scrapped out of any number of planes that use the ar6400 brick. That rX is the expensive part.

Not sure about Arizona but if you come to Georgia I can take you to a bone yard of UM P-51 parts (at my house )

Correct for most. Watch the classifieds too, sometimes someone is selling their crashed bird because they do not build, but they sell quick. I even bought a second Sukhoi V.1 when the V.2 came out because they were trying to clear them out at reduced prices. Even Hobby King has carried them. Sure there are hobby stores that still have aging inventory to search for.

Aero Bat pre-redux

Whoa! That's a little spooky and not just because it's close to Halloween.

I freehanded this little bat a few weeks ago out of some grey Depron.
Of course, the Aero Bat looks a lot cooler..
The motor is out of a PK Sukhoi that I put in a BL upgrade.

Quite nicely. A little more dihedral by bending up the tips helped with the turns.

If you look closely at the PZ brick, you'll see it's mounted backwards...

It's also a Vapor brick, so it does Elevons on the Brick.

You still need to use the TX to get elevons right.
