I'd be interested in knowing more about this single cell ESC, I've recently completed a 30 cm stryker using a HK 2 gram outrunner and a HK 3A ESC but experienced some difficulties as the ESC would shut down after a few seconds at full throttle?

Throw a 4025 on it.

Her is the manual for that esc:

For many HK products the manual can be found when you click on "Files"

Nooflyer,

What issues are you having? Not everything can be solved by programming the ESC.

What motor (and Kv version, if appropriate) and what prop are you using? Are you able to measure the current (and ideally, the battery voltage at the same time)? Maybe you've over propped it.

I'm using an Ap03 7000kv with the new .3g 3.5a esc and a 4025 prop.
The issue i'm having is not enough with a brand new 150mah 25c single cell batt., with the brushed motor in my yak 55m i'm getting 1.5 to 1 aspect ratio. But with the brushless i'm getting maybe 1:1 thrust.
Basically i have to be full throttle to hover. I was told to put an 4025 prop on for 3d and that hasnt worked out. I know 3020 prop is recommended but i'm not after speed.

I see, Nooflyer. I think that's really the wrong motor for the job, and it probably draws too much current with a 4025. The 4200Kv version would be more appropriate for that sort of plane, and allows a bigger prop:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=9664

- the recommendation there is for 2s (I've no idea if it's right). A 4025 would be fine with the 4200Kv one on 1s, and you might be able to go a bit bigger to get more thrust - maybe 5x3.

You don't get the same benefits from going from a 1s coreless brushed (geared) setup to a 1s brushless direct drive setup that you'd expect. It's not the same as upgrading a plane that has a geared brushed motor and runs on a 2s or 3s lipo, unfortunately. The efficiency of direct drive brushless motors at such low voltages isn't that great, and coreless motors seem pretty good - they just don't live as long. Modfly had some success with a small high Kv brushless motor and a gearbox.

Unfortunately, using a high Kv brushless direct drive isn't good for efficiency and thrust, only speed.

A friend is running one of these on a single cell with a GWS 5030 prop with good results.

I have one on the way myself.

Will order one of these motors from Hk in the next day.
Until then I'm just going to put the brushed 4site motor in and see how she flies!
