This seems to be turning to a personal blog
There isn't much in the way of conversation but at least I know that there are a few non RCGroupers who are following my antics.

Here are a set of photos showing the process of fitting plank two, you will notice I have already fitted the other one. That is to get the process right in my mind before commiting to my build notes.

If we didn't know this was a model, it would be hard to tell it wasn't 1:1 in some of your build pictures. (except for what would be massive binder clips!) Nice work!

P.S., we're watching!

Thank you for the very generous encouragement, I am experimenting and learning too so would be genuinely grateful for any help and advice.

I have been taking photo of model planes and helicopters for a while now. I find that photos can convey so much more than words and add so much to threads and magazine articles.

We live near to airfield, as today is the first fine Sunday for a few weeks a couple of old friends who were stationed here on exchange a while back dropped in to offer me a hand.

I have been running some figures today, if I were to build "Astra" (J Class) to the same scale as Action Man (who has a half brother in the States called Joe) she would be 18' 10" LOA with a beam of 3'4", not much smaller than a full size Waveney.

I wonder if I would get that past the Yard Management?

Hee hee, if your yard manager is like my yard manager, she'll say "NO!"

I've recently tested my yard manager's limits re: model boats... The absolute maximum allowed is 59"... Maybe 59" slightly exceeds the maximum... Fortunately, this was one of those "all sales final, no returns" purchases!

I have "clearence" for any model up to 8ft but my real interest is building or re-building something full size.

I keep being drawn back to "Waterwitch" at 1/6th scale she would be 87" (the real thing is currently rotting in a boatyard in the East of England)

Waterwitch is a Knud Riemer design built by Uffa Fox in 1937, built to 30 Sq m rules. And so a cunning plan was hatched; "Dearest, I am going to build a "Sherry" Cruiser!" once she's built I can put the obvious misunderstanding down to my dyslexia. The Skerry cruisers are just beautiful.

Amen! But it looks like a batten sprung and caught that poor fellow on the cheek! Maybe he should put on some safety glasses?

Beautiful boat.
