Have you a link to this plane? Would you be kind enough to share it with us?

Look in the Polaris thread in the Foamies-scratch build forum. The Aquacat is discussed there(including a link to the kit builder) in the most recent couple of pages. Actually post #3716.

Model Aero Aqua Cat

Jim, here's a link to the Aqua Cat page:

Model Aero Aqua Cat

lake flyer, I just sent you an email. I was not aware of your plane called the Aquacat. I always do Google searches on our new plane names and nothing came back for Aqua Cat related to rc planes, so we went with it. Hopefully, our Aqua Cats can peacefully co-exist!

Here ya go...AquaCat

Edit: Sorry Scott, you beat me to it.

On the name thing, perhaps a more fitting name for this one would be a "PolarCat"

Thanks for the link. Mobile browsing is cool but clumsy.

I am looking for 2 things at this time..

A float/seaplane

And

A home for a hot rod 400 sized Scorpion motor. 2215-1860 for 6x6 to 7x5 props

I looked at the specs on your Scorpion motor and that would be a hot, hot, hot set-up!!! I may try one of those motors myself.

Keep in mind the Aqua Cat is just as happy flying off grass or snow. It's not just a seaplane.

Thanks Scott - I just looked at the video on the home PC. I really am impressed with it. We're chronically short of water, here in the desert - so the grass handling ability is a major plus. I get to fly off of water a few times a year, maybe with a new plane the next time

Looking at the motor chart, I did not see specs for an APC 6/5.5 E prop. That is a great prop and would be somewhere between the 6/4 and 7/5.

Scott, do you know how many amps/watts the 2212-06 pulls with the 6x5.5? Right now I am getting 22.5 - 23 amps at around 245 watts with a 6x4.

It will pull 28 amps with a 6/5.5 and around 290 watts. Because of the ESC cooling issues I'd stick with the 6/4. Plus I didn't see much if any of a performance gain with the 6/5.5.
