flowerpower,
I moved this over here to training since you're a tad bit under the 50 post rule for OTD.

Firepower,
FMS, is a very good simulator that Don recommended. Get a hookup to some sort of joystick device -an R/C TX if possible, or as I have, a Logitech WingMan game controller.
FMS is not exceptional at the physics of flight but is not bad. It will definitely keep you sharp on the apparent left-right reversal during flight.

I also recommend only FMS. It is good enough for most needs, then you can move on on the real thing for what's left.

Not mentionning that Great plane G2 and earlier versions are a real pain to use. You need to all the time, play between CDs (copy protections...) and it gets stuck most of the time.

FMS will give you the basics needed, without any prob.

Go to the non Commercial links on http://plawner.net/ to get links for FMS and other planes to download
