Foo Fighter 48 Maiden | Ground & Air Vid

The maiden went very well & the conclusion is that this is a very slow bird. Below are the ground and air vids. My Dad, who is severly illiterite when it comes to technolgy , did the ground video. He's improving! Be on the look out where I almost loose it in a tree. Thought I was going to clear it...

Nice job. This one looks like a winner! Nice and slow and very stable. I wish I had a larger vehicle.

just add another engine... I hope you go full bore FPV on it ...and paint the whole thing black

Good job looks like a winner

Oh, Tim! You've really got something there. Talk about a slow moving AV plane and steady. Wow! Congratulations! Just think, now a bunch of guys are going out to buy the materials for one more plane! Great job!

That is pretty amazing. Looks good up there tooling around.
it ought to make for a good camera platform at those speeds.

Ian,

I was waiting for that comment... It's the motor. This AXI took a 350 foot nose dive around 7 or 8 months ago when one of my wings folded. It was on one of my F-Planes and never did hit the ground technically but the impact did something to it. Visually it looks fine and you can't feel anything out of wack spinning it by hand but it's got a growl to it now. I use it now for maidens like this and smaller non AP related planes.

Good ears.

Do you think this would scale down to a 36" OK and keep the stability?

I think it would. I'd like to try one of Mike's LoRyder wings. Maybe 1-2 degrees of + incidence.

That's a coincidence. I have one of those wings The positive incidence would be to make the plane fly at the correct angle or would it have something to do with the disk? Is the incidence in relation to the disk?

I'm just putting a little + in for low idle cruising. I'm sure it would be fine at 0 as well.
