Another new Lipo charger - Pro-Peak Prodigy

Was flipping through the latest Ripmax News this morning and found yet another new charger.

Pro-Peak Prodigy 54.94
Does 1-10 cell NiMh/NiCad
2-12v PB
1-3 cell Lipo

.1 to 3A charge rate but doesn't state if it's for all chemistries.

10 to 500ma discharge rate.

It's a micro processor controlled charger with a 2 line LCD.

Ripmax are a bit like the UK version of Hobby-Lobby. Some stuff is available in the US through Great Planes.

Swallow charger

charge rates are from .1to3.0A in .1 steps, and for all chemistries. It will also discharge at up to 1.5A,and will cycle NiMH & NiCD.
It seems a great little charger for use with smaller cell counts---I think that it will only go up to 10 cells for NiMH/NiCD,and 3 Lipoly.
One of my flying buddies turned up with one at our indoor meet on last Saturday----I am expecting mine to arrive in the mail tomorrow, and am anxiously awaiting the postmans whistle!

I am getting one of these for my birthday.

I have found them at Als Hobbies (www.alshobbies.com) for 50.

This is a steal, as other LiPo only chargers cost a similar amount, and don't have the same charge rates.

I will probably go and get it this weekend, as i have an ifo in the post, and need to get me a computer TX.

Hmm, just what I need to charge my 3s1p 3270 pack. Will it charge a 3 cell LiPo pack from a 12V car battery or do I need a 13 - 15V power supply in order to let it charge the pack up to 12.6V?

Cheers,
Danny
