Good luck...meantime, I may have a reference and post it. Dick edit: As you can see the left example is Zinc Chromate and quite a bit more yellowish than the RAF Interior Green on the right - these are both TESTORS color chips |

I promise it will need nose weight. an alarming amount, probably.

Mine is electric and it needed no weight added. Scan back for pics of my Spitty. I opened up the firewall so that I could mount my 3000/4000 mah 3s packs on either side of the outrunner. RX and RX 4-cell pack are mounted under the chin hatch. I actually had to push the 3s lipos back a little since it came out nose heavy.

CN here on AS's comp.....well, i just pulled all the magnets out of my 42 series to use as hatch latches. i had magnets come off 3 differnt times. i even scuffed both surfaces, and cleaned with alc....i tried 5 min.....super glue.....and JB weld....all let go after about 5-6 flights. when i popped off the rest of the magnets....they came off REAL easy...... both my 63 64's have been awsome. i freakin torture the 270kv in my corsair on 8s. 2600-2700W, in temps up to 105 deg.....been awsome.

Wow.. bummer that even JB Weld didn't work for you. It has worked great for my magnet work, all with over 20+ flights (42-60, 50-55 and a 63-64). The real test was going all out during the summer (6s setups in the 42-50/50-55). However.. i do prefer Hysol 9462. That stuff is insanely good and is my preferred adhesive for this type of bond. I wish I had your luck with 63-64/74s.. all 4 of mine have needed magnets re-glued which was a pain. |

But it flew really well. I got some insight since i got the opportunity to fly both power setups. I fly mine with a Turnigy 50-55 SK on 6 cells so my plane was much heavier and I could really feel it. However, his evo powered plane felt a bit slow compared to my E setup. The WOT runway passes were noticeably slower BUT it felt very light on it's wings, leaner and more agile. Unfortunately it didn't have that seemingly 'unlimited' vertical power. It did sound cool though. Any "better than average torque" standard servos should be fine. I've been using HXT 5010 servos from Hobbyking, they're cheap but pack 150oz torque. I literally have hundreds of flights on mine and they've held up really well. I really do punish my planes.. yank and bank.. and they've held up! I run on 6volts.. and i'll be honest I've had to replace two of them (they eventually burned out) but both held up past 100 flights. I think Hobbypartz carries the same servos under a different name (sg 5010?) I've also had great luck with them on my CMP 50 Zero as well. Resolution isn't the greatest.. but these are warbirds.. I like HS 425BB servos (if you like Hitecs) and they've been working great in my 50 sized CMP P40. I use Power HD 1501 Metal Gear servos in my larger planes (1.20 and up) however my buddy with the Evo 52 uses those in his Spitfire. Best of luck on your build! https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...sp?idProduct=2 |
