Sigh, I'm still waiting for my next paycheck before I order the remaining parts.
This is killing me...

I have this HK prop balancer at home and I have this problem too
For balancing my props I use stand and non magnetic axle on 4 bearings.
Before I used 2 Olfa knife blades and 6mm shaft. Stand was made from balsa wood and blades were glued on it. Works perfect.

Bob C, great innovation using a GWS gear box, and the motor mount doesn't look like it would be difficult to make. Nice.

Rev, I have a Dubro Tru-spin prop balancer , gives fine balance. I also have one of those little ones you hold between your fingertips in my field box, handy in a pinch.

Got my Tri 95% all wired up last night. Just have to place the gyros and get it some power!

I'm going to go back through and see if I can find this; but what is the best settings to start out with on these gyros? (I have the three telebees and one GWS). Also need to figure out this 'pitch curve' setup in my radio as well...

Initial testing - has anyone attempted to 'tie down' their Tri before actually letting it take flight? Just to be sure all the wiring/radio setups are correct?

there is a very interesting setup in William's video that I was considering building something similar. The segment starts at 2:30 into the video.

Tricopter - The Movie... (7 min 58 sec)

AC5FF go back through the thread about the hover trainer and you will find it very helpful in setting up your tri -

HAHAA... Looking back through here for info I found this post of mine from a month ago... Looks like I underestimated my wiring timeframe! LOL

Just would also like to verify --- I know I've asked this one before but I still see several differences posted throughout here...
It is not necessary to have one motor spinning opposite the other. Correct?

not unless you are using a counter rotating prop - Most are using props that all spin the same direction -

Thx Mike
that's what I thought, but I figured I better get it right the first time

Picked up the 10pk of bullet connectors from HobbyCity; got those all soldered on and when I went to connect them all last night one wouldn't fit... Gonna try to take a closer look tonight. Didn't look like it was bigger in size, but I am wondering if solder happened to get down inside the male connector and somehow 'buldge' it a little... Might have to try to 'squeeze' it back into shape - or worse case just replace it....

I'm totally new to helis and I'm sure some of the guys here are new to helis too. Been flying slowstick, EPP eagle, flying wings.

Oh my, how do you fly the thing?
Any tips and advice on the learning process?

This guy recommends Reflex XTR.
http://www.rchelicopterweb.com/Learn...rningToFly.htm

I don't want to buy an expensive simulator. Cheap is what attracted me to tricopters in the first place.

Maybe I can get a good 2nd hand simulator.
By the way is there a tricopter model for the Reflex XTR?
