Thanks for all the encouragement guys, something tells me I may need it

I always have trouble with head in first flying on a copter so I'll just keep it pointed away. I never had that problem with planes.

I don't think how it looks is as important as how it flies.

My center ply is 8 mm thk. That explains the extra weight. It is very stiff though and can take the abuse. My tri arms are only 10 mm x 10 mm squares, too weak. 12 mm x 12 mm would be optimal.

That is why I'm going to drill into aluminum and not drill the CF front arms this time. Honestly I think the arms would have been fine even with the holes drilled in them but the extreme vibration did crack one of the three arms.... So this time I will not drill the front (pivot) arms.

Yeah I couldn't see which way was forward, even when painted different colors. Especially when its up in the sky.

Paint it before you put the electronics on. I forgot to do this.

That is because a plane is always flying forward. Today I had the Tri out a fair way, and then spun it around so it was flying straight at me. Now is when I realised that it will indeed act just like a plane. It is when you get it hovering right in front of you, nose in towards you, that things can go horribly wrong.

I am not too bothered about nose in hovers. When it gets to me, I just spin it around.

Maybe it will come one day - but not rushing it!!

what a plonker!

where do the the newspapers get this crappy information!

Draganfly was once used as a spy gadget in war zones by the US military and can reach heights of almost five miles - far more than a full-sized helicopter. The black carbon fibre gadget is controlled using signals sent via satellites to computers on the ground

It was declassified last year...

I may be interested in a second frame. Do you have motor mounts, and landing gear with it? or is it just the central part?....
