Congratulations !! Thanks for posting the pix. My parts for the Tri are on the way. Like you I had to order the re-branded Turnigy gyro. What do you think about that gyro?

Thanks!

Well I have nothing else to compare with, and it appears to be working So all good I suppose!!

I am hoping to be able to get a bit more air time this afternoon when the wind eases.

Cheers

3s vs 4s

I'm not getting enough endurance from my 3s 2200 battery running on Turnigy SK motors, only 4 mins. This motor is rated for 3s and 4s.
My guess is the thrust is not optimal for 3s, this motor requires 4s to shine.
It requires 75% throttle (on the pitch curve) to hover with a 6 oz payload and endurance is 4 mins.

But 4s would mean greater weight and change to a 4s lipo alarm.

Thanks lads!!

I have played with the Gyros a bit more and had to fly it in my games room (too windy) I I have hovering almost hands off at waist height.

I still get a little bit if pulsing with my Gryo Gain at about 70%

I can't wait for the wind to ease so I can get this thing in the air. Putting the FPV goggles on is going to be a scary moment!!

OK - I am confused. I have read back through the thread (again) and I am confused about the Gyro settings.

There are those running at 8%, but mine is at 70%?? What's with that??

That depends on your setup and radio. I run between 72 and 80% depending on the prop and battery that I am using.

I know the ESC's work great can anyone verify the rest of the list? Thanks

Mike
In this post, on this thread, https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...postcount=1347, bas10an mentioned a different gyro. I had posted a few pages back the question to him if these gyros will arm the esc but he didn't answer yet. Any body knows if they will do?

Way to go Mongrel!!!

Adjust your yaw mechanically, using linkage from servo to grip. It's trial and error. Set trim at neutral.

Different radios will use different gyro gain values depending upon if you are using a dedicated gyro gain channel or throttle channel and I suppose if that channel is reversed or not.

You're there man!

We bow yo YOU!

You have spread the word like no one else, and this thread in particular has opened the world of tricopters to everyone.

Thank you.

I thank all of those who have developed the Tricopter, and those who continue to tweak it, and make it better.
Ahh, if only our Congressional leaders could get along like you all, everyone having an equal say, and working for the benefit of all hard working Americans, our Country wouldn't be in the mess it is.
I really enjoy my Tri, and am anxious for more decent weather here to fly it in.

Tom.. i think I got the radio programmed as per your settings. I can't seem to find the "Gyro (yaw) 8.0% STD" settings in my radio... as well as the ""No Offset"... Also I take it the D/R,EXP settings you have set to a particular switch?

Thanks, this is my first time trying to use this part of the radio so lets say I'm pretty confused... I never programmed a collective pitch heli on the radio and it just seems a bit overwhelming.
