You fly during the winter out there?

We go to Iola.

WillowCreek overlooks Blue Mesa there is a VOR antenna on the top.
Hang Glider hot spot for most of the year.

At the goat farm?? No idea. From what I understand the same guy that owns HCH, also manages that concrete station just east of town on hwy50 and will sometimes have the equipment out there plow a nice little runway on the snow for some winter flying.

I am gonna get a membership to the community center and see if they'll let me fly inside. I"m mostly a heli guy..so that works out. And with all of the newer lighter planes...even smaller indoor areas are fair game.

So as far as your combat meet.....is this the first annual??

How do you get up Iola in the winter? I assume you are talking about the ridge just west of willow. I've never gone over there just because willow is so easy to get up (not in the winter, but when its open). But the Iola ridge should actually be better flying - nothing out in front of it.

Willow Creek is a great spot for this event. Wish my anniversary didn't fall on the 19th. Bad form to blow that off for a combat event. I hope that I get to fly up there with some of you guys at another time.
