Feibao L-39 maiden

i will try a few mods and see if i can get more air to the fan. at this stage im not sure if it was tail heavy or not, i balanced it on the main wing tube like the manual recommends and alot of turbine guys seem to be using the same cg.
Landing broke one main gear mount. i hope the mods make it perform alot better.

EDF crazy,

Now I know how you got your call sign. You're on the high end of the power to weight ratio for the DynEMax scorpions fan. For good performance I usually specify only 15 pound aircraft for that fan unit. One alternative if you can go to 14 cells. The scorpion motor can handle that and give you about another 500 Watts. If that plane is about the same size and weight as Tam A4 that Pablo flew, he used the DynEMax beast 1527 3-D at about 19 to 20 pounds with good flight authority. I agree also that you may be a little tail heavy. When an airplane is in this kind of condition you need to literally fly it to the ground with power. Glad you got it back in one piece!

Big time tail heavy....you are very lucky to get her down...

Remember what a good pilot friend to me once.......

"a nose heavy plane flies poorly----a tail heavy plane flies once"

Yup, takes a pilot with good skills to get a model with a CG like that down in one piece. At least you know it won't fly worse. Please post some more vid when you get it up in the air again. Appreciate what Mr Dyn-E-Max says about power from that system but it doesn't fly bad. Actually looks like it's got a good 'scale' turn of speed.
