BB AT-24 Plans, Pictures, and now Video

The BB AT-24 is a Blu-Baby 24 that I bashed into a low wing model that resembles some of the trainer craft of WWII. Part Texan, part BT13, and part PT19. It is alot of fun to fly and actually is a little slower in yaw induced roll response over the original Blu-Baby 24. The wing is permanently attached to the fuselage, which makes this a lighter build than if it had a rubber band on wing. It uses the ELE 2500 Kv C20 motor and a GWS 6 x 3 prop and a 350 mAh 2s battery. AUW is just under 5 oz. You can pump 50 watts out of these motors, so that is giving us 160 watts per pound. Plenty of power. I used 5 degrees of downthrust and 5 degrees of right thrust, so she does not just want to loop over on full power. Don't get me wrong, she will, but she punches out very smartly when you firewall the throttle, giving fabulous climb outs.

Well, I finally got the plans to where I think I can put them out there. Video will come as soon as I can coax someone to do the shooting.

Thanks again to Tony65x55 for a great design to start now made into a distinct looking and performing model.

Both Bz1mcr and Springer can attest to its flying capabilities.

What a neat looking creation! l love it! Can anyone with the expertise find a few
minutes to scale it to Blue Wonder motor size? Maybe a 30/32 incher? Congrats on the
design and build. Warm regards, Jim

Jim: if you just put a BW on it right like it is, it would be a real rocket!!!. As it is, Ken can take it straight up as far as he cares to (just before it disapears as a spec in the blue!)

That's what i would do. Maybe prop it down a bit - 7x3.8 or some such would be a bit more sedate. You can always just run at lower throttle setting.
