plenty of threads covering both of these radios and their relative merits.
also, without details it's hard to make a determination.
short form answer : unless you're married to FASST already, the A9 is a much better radio than the 8FG, with the possible exception of 1 or 2 helicopter specific programming functions, the A9 doesn't have an electronic swash ring to my knowledge.
if you're not heavily invested into FASST receivers, and don't have an overriding need for the 1-2 heli specific features on the 8FG, then the A9 is the better bet.
Also worth considering in this market space is the Airtronics SD-10G.
