Blade mCX Rescue Tandem (and all other UMs) -- Stealth Box Mode

This is how to turn a nice shiny box that will attract crooks (and your kid brother) into a totally boring-looking package you don't have to worry about.

As far as I know, this works on every Horizon Ultra Micro except for the HyperTaxi.

Here is a fix that was posted a long time ago about the right turn issue. It is something you will have to do on occasion as the thinking is that the frame warps a little bit and causes this issue. This is not my video, just one of us that had the right turn problem and he found a quick fix for it.

Shipping Ultra-Micros (UM) in the original box

The post office does not accept packages that have any advertising, logos, writing, etc., on them.

Because of this, if you want to ship an Ultra Micro (UM) with the post office, you would normally need a huge outer box to put it in, but this increases the weight and size, which increases the cost.

This method works very well, and is easy to do with just one additional piece of cardboard and some packing tape.

The additional cardboard is important for airplanes which have big flat boxes and no upper piece of protective foam, but could be skipped for helis, which are smaller and have separate top / bottom pieces of foam to protect the bird.

If you are going to skip the additional piece of cardboard, leave the plastic handle inside the box so it doesn't snag and tear during shipping.

Hi,

I saw this video and tried it a year ago when I first got my heli and frankly it did not help. All I was doing was putting unnecessary stress and strain on the mainframe as well as crumpling up and putting cracks into my fuselage!

The yaw problem goes away if I fly for a few seconds, land, pull the battery, and then put the battery back into the heli. This fix is completely repeatable and does not involve wringing my poor tandem out like a wet washcloth!

I looked at my mainshafts and they don't line up exactly either but after resetting the battery after literally just a few seconds (not a minute as some other folks have said) then it holds the yaw without needing any trim. No mechanical deformation required!

What mods have people been doing to these?

I had one over a year ago, but stupidly I sold it, now Ive got a sudden urge to buy another one.

Im thinking shorten the shafts, and add scout CX flybars

Not to mention a plethora of smd leds.

Blade mCX Tandem Rescue -- Landing Gear Mods -- modifying the box to fit extra wheel

If you add the additional landing gear wheels as shown in post #892 you will also need to make a minor change to let it fit in the box.

The pictures show you what to do.
