Question

Help w/ PZ P51d BL

I've tried searching for this answer, and I've even read through a large chunk of the official thread.. but it's now over 180 pages, and I don't have that kind of free time -

Here is my question- I may have damaged my motor in an inverted flight incident I'm looking for a new motor, and was thinking the Eflight power 10, but I'm not sure if it will mount up properly.

Does anyone have a motor they suggest that would be a direct replacement, for mounting, that is more powerful than the 960kv stock one? I've replaced the ESC with a eflite 30amp, and have a 9x6e and the stock prop, and the t28 prop.

I figure if I have to replace a motor, I might as well upgrade. Thanks guys!

The power 10 is a bolt in....I just put one in my Corsair using the stock motor mount....it's just a little pricy.

How did you get around the extremely short shaft that comes out of the power 10? I'm not sure that mounting the prop on that shaft I'll clear my cowl?

E-Flite motor upgrade for Parkzone birds...

You will not be able to use stock collet...probably (shaft diameter differences); so try other collets. You may also have to replace prop-hub/spinner; but I doubt it.

motor selection

If I were you I would invest 20 bucks in a turnigy 35-36..1400kv. Will bolt on but needs shims...10x5 apc will make a rocket!!!! (47 amps..532 watts)
Good motor and has 3 times the power..you'll need a phoenix 54 ...but i have seen them run all day with the stock 30 amp from PZ. If yours came with a 30.
And invest in a du bro spinner cause the stock ones disintegrate for this set up...LOL!

with the setup i explained..prob 70- 80-mph! on 3s 2250 25 lipo.

I am running the same engine in the seafury. It drags it along nicely, tons of power.

Thanks Jeff. I've got several props to choose from, but no 10x5. would a 9x6 or 9.5x7.5 work? Sounds like a good motor, and I have an eflite 30amp esc already installed.

Maybe the 9x6....but check with your watt meter for amps draw...just for knowing sake! More pitch the more you hurt your batt. IN my experience.

For $2, it wouldn't hurt to put a 10x5 in and what is a Du Bro Spinner? *EDIT* NM, did a hobbyking search.

your stock spinner is too weak and will go oval with power on and smash the front part..du bro is a manufacturer that makes the proper 2.5 inch spinner for this bird!

Oh crap.. so I just got my order from HobbyKing. I accidentally ordered the 1100kv motor instead of the 1300, and they're now backordered. Should I return it, or keep it, and which prop should I use now?

you're better off with the 1100Kv, 1400 is too hot! you will fry something... eventually try a APC9x9E

what about an 11x7 or 11x6 with that 3536? I've had several people say one of those two... I'm still pretty new RC flying, so I truly value your opinion.
