Hi everyone. Just wanted to say hi and show you my plane. I'm pretty new to rc aircraft and this forum has been of great help to me first with my night vapor and now with my new mini mustang. Internals are all stock, just added a bit of red paint, yellow tips on the prop, and a gloss coat to the canopy. I cut the hatch open and added small magnets to ease access. This seemed to weaken the tail a bit so I glued in a cf spar to maintain rigidity. This is my first aileron plane. After countless hours on my the vapor and about 3 hours on a sim I disregarded the advise of the lhs employee and took the plunge. I'm happy to report that I've put 12 batteries through her so far and done no damage other then snapping off the right landing gear. (overshot my runway into grass). If you are a beginner wanting to move up to ailerons my advice is to get a bit of sim time, and then take it real slow with low rates and easy flying until you get the hang of it. Im sure there are much better planes to learn on, but this one worked for me. A wide open field with long grass helps too!

i used tamiya primer and ts series paint. Worked great without melting the foam.

Here is the primer

Here is the paint

It's a pretty thick and plastic-like finish. I'm hoping it will hold up to the inevitable faceplants.

Yep they are. Very durable, and precise. And a perfect low cost modding platform.

New micro cockpit kit for PZ P-51D

Just FYI.

I've made a new ultra-micro cockpit kit for the PZ P-51D size. I've made it available to order from the Shapeways, like my earlier larger scale cockpit kits. For use with a clear canopy. Note that Shapeways prices also include shipping and the VAT is removed for the non-EU members. Shapeways has minimum of $25 order amount, so you need to order more than one of the models to fill up that sum. (I have no say on their price policies - I've just made the models themselves.)

Have fun!

PS. If anyone has premade canopies for sale, I'd love to buy some for myself, as parkflyer plastics charges rediculous prices for shipping to Europe... PM me if you have some for sale. Otherwise I'll just do my own canopies, when I have time...

Awesome job Toni. I can't wait to see your other Micro pilots you might do when you have time.

Another Micro friend Gene I think is going to order some. I think we're going to order together.

Again great work and I look forward to others too

Pete
