There have been a few changes since i did this video, for example, i'm now building it with 2 tilt pods, one for each yagi, but with the servos programmed to be perfectly matching so i can join the two tilt pods together and have a larger patch in the middle.

Another thing is that in the video i was proposing to use 1/4" stainless steel shafts, which have now gone up to 3/8" diameter shafts.

Also, there is counterbalance weight connected to the rear tilt arms (which is the 5000mAh Lipo that runs the receivers & servos etc)

Cheers

Andy
well did you build it lets see?

Looking nice jcoahran ,I tried using the foam that comes with the cases but as im sure you know its hard to keep the remaining sections in place.
I have made some updates to my gs in the recent months.

And ive just added antenna tracking but yet to take any pics.
Regards Liam.

Very nice and thanks. I agree about the foam. What would be a good, easy to work with alternative?

Thanks,
Joe

The only idea I came up with was to make face plates, either from Perspex or timber sheets and cover them with 5mm foam roll.

Just to let everyone know - A fellow member on RCG suggested that I try Joanne's Fabrics as a source for that squishy egg-crate style foam. They only have egg-crate if you want to buy a full mattress pad worth, but they do have the same soft foam (up to 2" thick) without the crate indentations. It was 15 bucks for a 22" square x 2" thick. I think I'll be using that in combination with some EPS as a filler.

Great nerd container. You need to fpv while someone is driving on a bumpy course.

Sweet. I always wanted one of these.

What's next? 1:1 scale flight controls?

How do you launch your planes? ROG? Roof pops open, you toss...sit down and shut the roof? Catapult?

@jcoahran: really nice suitcase! Well done. I just miss a tracker system.
