Timnilson,

Nice GS!!! I'm a fan of acrylic, good work there!

Where did you get those great looking voltmeters? They look very professional.

My FPV GS

2 - 900mhz RX
1 Patch antenna 8dbi
1 Omni 2dbi whip antenna
1 Eagle Tree FPV Ground station system
Nine Eagle helicopter case

I'm modding some EVG goggles to be in a ski goggle but currently use Fatshark glasses. Going to add a drop cord for a 12V 4.5A sealed battery to power everything. I have another case, so I may put the battery in that case as well as have a spot for the glasses.

How do you manage mounting the case to the tripod?
The case alum is so thin, did you make some braces??

You can still attach some shade there. By the way this is one of the best set ups I saw here.
I think I have same volt meter somewhere, with spring cleaning I may dig it out eventually :-)

The volt meters had to be very small and this one was the smallest I was able to find -- every piece that went into this design was carefully chosen for its size and performance. I went through a few 40mm fans to settle on the one I picked... it's noisy, but moves about 4 times the amount of air from the usual 'silent' 40mm fans while needing a modest 200mAh. The PowerBox is another critical component. It's tiny yet provides you the critical functions of power distribution and AV distribution.

Very impressive, I wish I had access to some machinery.
I will have to settle for my Pelican cases :-(.

I live in NYC and found a local CNC shop to do the CNC-ing of the lexan. It was not cheap, but well worth it.

I was going to make a similar GS and I thought I could use a flash bracket like this and attach it to the case so then you could screw it in and out whenever you want. Maybe somebody here has a more solid idea than mine which I too like know about it before I build mine!

This is a 3D animation of my future groundstation. I am planning to build it over the summer. The groundstation is drawn to scale. The monitor is a vizio 16".

Feel free to use or adapt my design if you want.

I'd also like to know how to mount an aluminum case to a tripod, been trying to figure it out for days!

I suspect that he fabricated a mount by attaching a compatible mounting bracket to some heavy gauge steel plate. Then all he had to do was strap on the case and done.

Actually the Tripod came with a camera mount (I think that many of them do. I simple screwed and glued the camera mount to the case. It then locks to the tripod.
