I'm interested to build one for me. Only to receive images from mine Vrx 1.2Ghz. I won't use LCD screen in field. Is hardly to see under sun.

Could you please tell me where I can found a schematic? Have you create a work log in forum?

Thanks a lot.
Hi,

They are based on Vuzix Wrap Video Glasses

I merely stripped down the glasses and fitted the displays to the goggles, I then made a neat box to house the controlle, cables and a transformer for the power supply.

There are a ton of great ideas here. I am still in research phase to build my GS. I have several Pelican cases in my attic and garage, but they are all too big to do what i want. Thanks to all who have posted the inspiration for my next adventure.

Well - I love it....

Got the crosshair sorted and built my tracker around it.

Diversity, and also retransmitting the signal to my Fatsharks via another transmitter to make it cable free. Adjustable counterweight.

Also have a small camera mount still to go to hold a spare GoPro I have to record landing and takeoff from the tracker - no human holding required....!!

RCA to SDcard video recorder on the way too.. Will be mounted on one of the sides.

Welcome questions or comments...

Special thanks to Alex for answering all my questions.

Cheers

My new portable ground station for winter time.

- 1280mhz patch from L-Com
- 2 x 900-1300 VRX from foxtech
- EagleEye diversity
- 5.8ghz 10mw from foxtech to relay the signal to my fatshark's
- 3300 lipo 3s (should give me 7 hours of use from my calculation)

Patch antennas have the same connection as a camera to the tripod, it just screws into the back. I did the same with my patch - no mod needed at all.

DJO, you got some pretty cool blogs and videos.

my patch antenna has nothing on it, do you just run a screw from the tripod to the antenna? where? any details is appreciated.

Thanks!
No, no, the tripod's screw that would normally go into the camera on the tripod works with the patch too. The patch has some holes in the back and one of them (in the middle most likely) will screw right into the tripod. 99% of patch antennas have it, if not 100%. Make sure that you have the right side of the patch

Exactly, the adapter than has a quick release on the tripod screws on the back side of the patch.

That looks similar to the plugs that Sherrer uses for their UHF system. Might want to check out RMRC or another place that stocks Sherrer to see if the plugs match up.
