nice report Broken!

she looks good

In regards to the 3114 servos, in my honest opinion I think they are one of (if not) the best all around micro servo. plenty of torques, precise, no slop, and tough.

I do not have any experience with the servos you are using but my first MX-2 I built with eflite s75 servos before switching to 3114s. The s75 held the rud and ele fine, but one servo was simply not strong enough for both ailerons. This severely impacted aerobatics as ailerons were often not responsive with the large load from the big control surfaces. Switching to 3114s solved this problem and it flew every maneuver much better and was far more responsive. I never had centering issues with these servos.

Sounds like your setup is working well for ya, have fun with it and shoot some vids... I have not seen a new mx2 vid in a while and no longer have one in my hangar so I am a bit envious.

Honestly, I normally wouldn't consider selling them. We both put a ton of time into building them, and usually end up flying that same plane until it's time to build a new one for the next year's ETOC. It's possible though! I keep telling myself I'll have two ready for the contest, and in that case, I might let one go.

RJ
RJ I'll be at the show Saturday. OK now I'll have to use plastic at the Toledo show and save my cash for you at ETOC. That's risky because my wife might see what I spend. I'm putting my neck out here for you RJ. I know you won't let me down.

New decoration

Well this week was super windy, and I didn't realize the wind blew my MX2 off the workbench and under the passenger front tire when I opened the garage door. Backed out and heard a crunch that can only be described as painful.

Now I've got a new decoration - tire tracks. Bummer, not even maidened yet and battle scarred already.

I feel your pain, when i was building the f-86 in my sig pic the wind did the same thing to it. Busted the canopy an broke the pilots head off. A little disappointing to say the least.

So... Just because of my curiosity of aerodynamics. Exactly what does having a upward angled wing-let thing under the wing do? All I see is a device that is not aerodynamically symmetrical, which can only mean one thing. It is to compensate for some other aerodynamic flaw that makes the plane knife edge funny. They get rid of coupling, right? And I guess they cause a little drag that helps slow the plane down in a dive. Plus you can make the plane look more scale I think...
?
I dunno, just tell me what its for!
