The zero position is further back than the middle. It's probably around 1/3 from the bottom to the top.

Hi RJ, I don't whant to bother you, but can you tell me few thinks about your set up? Me, last year, I was using an axi 2203/40 on 2s, the power is good, but not so crazy like your, this year, I use an axi 2204/28 (27 gr motor with 2700 kv !) I think I have the same power than you, but only 2min of fligth with tp batteries 325 65 c 2s and 160gr plane. I know last year you were using an A20 34 s on 2s, and this year an A10 right? Can you tell me what is the best set up for you please? and what is the weight of your model ? Thanks very much.

I'm also using the axi 2204-28 in a 190g model with 325's and get around 2 1/2 to 3 minutes of VPP flight. I am only using 8" blades and find this plenty of power even at the 190g mark, more than I had using the Hacker A20 34s on the same packs and 9" blades.

I started using a modified A10-9L three years ago when I started flying VPP. I have used the A20-34S, but only on one airplane. That flight time is about right... I only fly for about 2 minutes normally with the same 65C batteries. The A20-34S setup is definitely the easiest to build and has the best power, but it is a little heavier, so I still use the A10. My last thrust-vectored VPP model is right at 150g ready to fly weight. Before that, my green TVVPP model was about 140 grams, and of course it had the best power.

150g is a real lightweight but no good to those of us who still "Tap" the floor

A milled depron Model would last me an evening and little more

Could I ask you how you modified the A10 RJ ?

RJ, 140 gr with an A20 34s in the nose !? What is your secret ?

Axi for me definatley works better than the 34S did and definatley more than enough power on 8" blades with everything running sweet and not over hot

It's an A10, not an A20 . Even with the A20 it only would have been 150g though! And it wasn't even built especially light!

It just has a custom titanium shaft that steps from the normal A10-9L shaft diameter up to 1/8" for the Mamo prop hub. It's a pretty simple part, but not much fun to make! Tolerances are measured in ten-thousandths of an inch.

Thanks RJ That makes sense as the Mamo is only available with 3mm or 3.17mm (1/8") fittings. I'll have to get an adaptor made and give the A10 a try as I always said it was the best bang for Bucks motor in the class.

I'm nearing the point I would like to try a light depron model for VPP and see 140-150g as a realistic weight target especially with Depron Aero

That's one small motor you got there only 1/8" diameter?

Yes, it's a new micro brushless pager motor. Amazing I can get that much torque out of such a small motor, isn't it?

RJ, could you give us more details how you made it so light? Any photos? More info about the setup? I can't get a lighter airplane than 150g and was wondering what is your secret.
