I want to say I read somewhere on here that the stock arms will produce the proper throws. I did purchase some aftermarket arms that are longer than the stock ones. I can't remamber who makes them but I will check and let you know

The stock arms give enough throw. Only reason to get an aftermarket arm would be for the offset

As they have said, stock arms give proper throw. The upgrade option is to use a RadicalRC arm on the ailerons to give proper equal aileron throw. This certainly improves rolling characteristics but is not totally necessary.

Well my MX2 took 5 days from Kansas to the UK, built it last night and this morning. It did have the instructions for the Yak 55 in the box but I got Andrew Jesky's HPP foamie DVD about 3 days ago - so used that to guide me through it. Worked a treat, haven't flown it yet as my next indoor session is next weekend but cannot wait!

My setup in the end was:-

Hacker A10-9L
Hacker X5
Futaba S3114 on Ailerons
E-Flite S60's on Rudder and Elevator
GWS 8x4.3
Batteries are Rhino/Flightmax 2s350/360 of which I need more!

Hi simon737,

Do you mind me asking how much it cost delivered to the UK?

I got everything for the kit from the US, so price was a little down on what you would pay here for the setup listed (therefore making shipping a little more justifiable).

Shipping was via MyUS (using DHL) and was approx 30. Not bad to say it took 5 days.

I just put up 4 new videos from EFest on the VIP page at HigherPlane including one of AJ and RJ talking about the spades on the MX2. If you are already a VIP member use your VIP link. If not, get free VIP access here:

And here's some of my favorite shots of the MX2. (Most shot during the production of the AJ HPP DVD Volume 1). I just love the way the colors work on this plane. Great scheme RJ. One of my all time favorites. Looks stunning on film.

Those that are using the X5 - are you using the default setup with the A10-9L? Mine is a little rough starting up, once its turning though it seems fine.

I know this is off topic for this thread but what can you tell us about the sharp little blue Citabria/Decathalon you were flying at Efest? Is there a thread or videos anywhere?

Back on topic, we had an indoor event last evening and there were a couple of MX's there. Nice flying planes, very floaty and the pilots looked to be really enjoying them.

Jim Graham did an interview with RJ at EFest and posted it on the EFest thread:

Flew it on sunday for the first time and it flew fantastic, initially I had too much aileron throw and it was causing the counterbalance to stall especially flying slowly think I had 65 degrees plus . Once that issue was sorted I got comfortable with it on flight number 2 and began doing waterfalls and flying kife edge up and down the hall, where we fly isn't that big unfortunatley plus the chance of mid airs is fairly high. Although I found that to my detriment when I'd landed and a beginner managed to land on top of me breaking the depron where the canopy is.....wasn't pleased!

However once I had the hall to myself it is a fantastic flyer and makes me want to fly indoor more and more, love it!

FYI, there are great videos on page 1, 14, 19, 22 of this thread.

I've had mine flying for about two weeks (outdoors). Amazingly capable and well balanced airframe. I'm ready to order a second one!
