No burner in this balloon; must be helium.

I hope it doesn’t fall apart.

Poudre elementary schools are closed today for parent teacher conferences.

Otherwise this kid would probably have been in school.

Man, I hope the kid is alright. That is something I definetely would have done at his age given the chance. I guess he is at about 6000 feet agl right now.

Does anybody know if the craft is some form of kit, or completely home-made? I guess allowing the balloon to descend on its own is the safest plan of action, barring a storm on the way. I can't think of any good ways to lower it without risking destroying it.

I'm looking at it on live feed, it ain't a hot air balloon.

Granted, it's the Fox live feed, so it may be a hot air balloon and they are manipulating the image to make it appear to be a helium balloon, and the reports of it being tethered in the family's driveway may have been fabricated by Fox News, but what I'm seeing looks like a helium filled envelope.

My guess is somethings wrong because they are not getting the kid out
quickly....or he isn't in the balloon.

It doesn't look good. If there's a boy, he isn't moving.
