One thing i see with the clone heli's is the resale value is nowhere near that of an original Align kit resale. Its part of the disadvantages going cheap.

Sorry to say, but first picture i clicked showed me some rusty swash linkages.... and that is not a minor blade strike. it almost cut it open. It really does look beaten up. not saying its a bad flying heli, wth do i know? I do know i can match that price with a new build.

The resale value of any used RC gear is pretty much pennies on the dollar, This is why I don't understand people worrying about resale value. I would use it for a shelf decoration before I would resell it anyway, I put too much work and love into my machines to cast them aside for next to nothing.

Interesting that that one says you must use it with the torque tube tailcase. I'm using the silver Pro version and the Pro slider on a metal ESP belt tailcase and it works fine.

EDIT: The slider I have has the black anodized aluminum slide bushing.

Not true at all! If it is a clone yes!! but not the real thing! in fact people will pay as much if not more for a real Align. Crazy I know!!

I've been building clones for a couple years now and this is what I'd pay. I added in my 2nd 500 for comparison. Not scientific, but feels about right. Good luck!

Are Spring RC servos good?

For $3 more per servo you can get Spectrum A5040's with a 1 year warranty from HH. I just got confirmation from someone on Helifreak that the length of the servo and tabs is the same as a Hitec HS-5245 so they will in fact mount in a Trex 500 frame using the same method as the Hitecs. Shouldn't need spacers to keep them from touching like the Hitecs either.

Thread is here, I don't want to repost his pictures without permission.

I didn't add the AR5110e, as there is no RX with that model that I could link to. Say $40 more.

I got them on good advice from mhills, and they are just as good as the Aligns as far as backlash and centering. I have 40-50 flights on these servos and am confident using them. I am not sure about replacement gears though. mhills, would you know about that?

I have a few of the 450 H3000 Spectrum cyclic servos and they are as good as anything else. I also have a couple 450s with HS-65MG, and those are fine.

I'd sell my 450 BNF with a brand new EXI frame, unused CopterX head, used S9257, used YEP 45A, heat shrinked Orange RX, HS-65MG cyclic and brand new ZYX-S for $250 I wonder if I'd get that? Some buyers nowdays.
