Maybe there is something wrong then, your gear should not of had a issue. I am running a 1750kv with the stock gear and just about any of the write ups on the turnigy motors say they are less than they are rated. I'm running 3200 head speed on the pro with the MX motor.

With what you are running at 1800kv and 12t you are only looking at 2663 head speed at 90% without a load. Not that fast a little on the low side for hard 3D

On my HK500 the main gear is the only one I never changed and it survived at least four crashes.

I think the sudden jolt when I flipped modes from 75 to 90 was enough to shred the gear. I went out and burned two packs just a few minutes ago, and that thing did not want to flip. I'll try the 90% again later but I think I'll step my st1 up to maybe smooth the transition a bit.

I know I've been posting a lot, never really been this active on a forum. You guys are friendly and I'm having a blast sharing my experience on here.

Update: I increased the throttle to 85% and that REALLY woke this thing up.

Were you able to get the 510Ms for that price? I'd like to go with metal gear.

The Spring S3481 looks great, did you try them out already? Really smooth, like Align/Savox? I can't seem to find much first hand information.

Has anyone had experience with goodluckbuy.com? I think a couple people at the field have bought quad frames from them. Free shipping for the Spring servos...

Thanks much.

I got the YEP 100A today also. It's smaller than I thought it would be and fits under the battery tray easily.

The metal gears go for about $125-135 ebay
The springs worked great. I did do a lot of research on them even as far as contacting the company in china to find the Hz limit of 300. One reason some people complained about them burning up. Some of your cheaper electronic set digital to 333. with the beast and others like it you can set your own. I had the beast set to 200 head and 280 tail. After my really bad crash I had already won three more of the aligns so I put them in. They all still worked except for the tail. My 500e still has the spring 3471 on its tail and holds 100% and is never hot. the Futaba 401 runs at 270Hz

I could live with 70Hz on the cyclic. My 450v2 has HS-65MGs with the ZYX, and I can't tell the difference between that and my 450pro with ZYX and 333Hz cyclic servos (yet I guess).

I was thinking the max on the zyx was 165Hz on cyclic anyway. The beast max is 200 cyclic.

165? Shoot, I'll have to get out the scope.

as much as I can

The ZYX cyclic rate when set to digital is 111Hz with a 1520 tail servo, and 133hz with a 760us tail servo. The cyclic rate when set to analog is 71Hz.

I don't know if this is the same with v3.5, but I suspect it will be.

I thought it was way under 333, but I didn't know that low. Thanks beenflying!

Hmm, I always like to test it out myself.
One thing I noticed is when the tail and swash were both at 1520u digital, the rudder duty cycle was at around 60%. I didn't understand this, and won't remark on it, except to say I observed it. Anyway, I'll get the Spring servos Thanks mhills!

eagle777...Good luck with the Spring RC servo. I bought an SM-3471M last year for the tail on a 450v2. It only lasted for 1 month.

I'll be using them on the cyclic, so hopefully they last in the lower demand application vs the tail. Anything has gotta be better than the TGY-930 in my experience

One more question, what do you do if the main gear is slightly rubbing on the upper part of the frame slot? This is the stock HK main gear assembly. Both main bearing blocks are pointing in the right direction...

Adjust your lock collar on main shaft.

Something don't sound right. It should not be coming close. Do you think your oneway may have slipped. Adjusting the collar will just add unwanted slop. I would take it out and see if your one way is level with the top of the gear after you remove the one way bearing shaft.
