I...am tempted. I realize what I said before, but $125...I could have it outfitted for $400 total with decent servos.

I don't mind FB or belt. I have a half dozen 6s5000s. Should I not do this? Or go for it.
DO IT! You know you want to! You know you cant wait.

I just read a review from a peterS on HK.. to post that he spun up the heli with no blades and found scews come loose makes me wonder if this person stripped the heli right down and applied thread loc and CA where needed or just put it togther from the box.

we need some real reviews!!!

These are brand new. It's from one of the companies that buy combos and parts them out.

Well I..I probably wouldn't have build problems 'per se', but I have been wanting a better heli after a couple years of micro Blades, and EXI, HK, Tarot, CopterX etc. But am hesitant to spend 800 bux all at once

I don't think I would get it personally. Actually I probably would but I don't make smart decisions. Belt is fine. I had to switch to belt cause of tt problems. Can't go wrong

Do it, do it, do it.. Kidding. I'm tempted as well. But thinking i may have had my hk fill for a few months to come. Would still like to hear a low down on this hk550. (Whats good whats bad ) Guys over at hf cant seem to make up ther mind And agree. As for myself just going to order this align 500e "belt" Me and a belt is just odd..stick it in a black and gold md500 And call it a day.

cbarnettone setup & flight report on HF is very good. This guy knows how to build and setup a heli. After seeing this I may now get one.

Got my 2nd flight in todayon this bird. Had a wag on lift off. Dropped gain to fix. Helicopter definitely had more punch so it was battery. I do gotsome tuning work to do on the zyx. Didn't feel comfortable flying it. At one point the tail didn't wanna turn

Tail didnt want to turn? what were you doing at the time it happen.. FF, banking in a fig8, flip or just a hover?

You said you dropped the gain, this could this be the reason?

I get a very slight tail wag in HH mode when taking off on the gy520, but after this it holds with not a problem. With the old HK-401 I sometimes took off in rate and switch to HH mode when about 1mt off the ground. Doing this can preven tail wag on lift off.

I had this happen to me once on the 401.

I think you have to make sure you have the gyro limits set to full deflection on both direction to give the gyro heaps of room to compensate. Once you have done this check your pyro speed. If the speed is way to fast in either direction use the endpoints in your radio to limit the deflection when you give full stick input

Guys chime in if I'm wrong

Also check to see if you have too much play in your tail blade grips.

Finally off the phone. Its def not deflection range as I double checked that. I'm fairly certain my piro speed is maxed out in the radio (100% epa). I noticed in a hover (i tried this before I fixed the wag so it may not still be present), was doing some full speed piro's and the tail seemed to overshoot. I know that is a setting in the zyx but not sure which one. Also noticed when coming out of FFF back to a hover the heli....hmm. not sure how to explain it. Just kinda felt unstable for a second or 2. Stop bounce on the cyclic perhaps? Again thats a setting in the gyro but not sure which one. All I did was some circuits and piros. The hover was perfect, didn't have any issues there minus the wag until I fixed it. During circuits however something just seemed off. Can't really explain it just didn't "feel" right. I actually almost crashed coming out of the turn when I couldn't get the tail to do what I wanted for the split second. I landed right after that to make sure it wasn't binded up and it wasn't so no idea really. If someone could enlighten me on those 2 things I mentioned as to what setting in the zyx I should change would be great. Didn't have time to recharge the battery before sun went down so I'll have to try and get another flight tomorrow. Will try and get a better explanation for what its doing. It may be something to do with my gain being really low for cyclic. I might bump that up a tad too just don't want the horrible wobbles I had like with the cx fbl unit

Just make sure whan changing settings you only change 1 parameter and then do a flight test. Changing a few parameters in one hit will lead to you chasing your tail to iron out any issues.
