I could see how it would be done with a pushrod and a spring loaded hinge, but I think I'll stick with my way for now! Maybe if I build the BVM F-100!

4stripes nice work on your HUN, I like the ESC in front of the fan myself, your install looks clean.

I'm not a fan of your elevator servo install however, there is enough foam there to dig in a little deeper and keep just the servo horn on the outside of the plane. This puts the elevator pushrod right where you need it.
no no ..iwas wondering how they fold it on the full scale ....what you have is sweet .

now THAT is an awesome servo install, very impressive

guys n gals, just a quick opinion please...
I have 2 planes to build... but alas only one 8S RC Lander ally edf...
this fly fly F-100
and the fly fly Hawker Hunter

i know 8S wont reflect speed on this F100 (I dont need speed, I have a 220kph PZ P47 for my speed fix ), but i would hope for good vertical performance
on the other hand, i have read a clean 8S install in the Hawker Hunter gives all round performance well over 100mph

soooo.... anyone here flown both the F100 & Hawker Hunter to advice me which bird to go for first?

also is there a need to open up the cheater and/or install a tail thrust tube?

cheers!

NICE!! Can you show us some close ups of the linkage for the leading edge devices? Looks like you had some great fun with that Hun.

Rough Crowd!

This may condition you guys a little more. Full scale pilot-less radio control jets destined for a thankless job

AH,

I have not flown the FF F100 yet but will start the build pretty soon. I can however say that the Hawker Hunter is really a fast bird without the ordinance and slow speed is great too. The wing area on the Hunter is 52dm vs the 32dm on the F100. Choices............

Very nice in air shots mate, nice camera work and good lighting. I love the one going from right to left with a slight left bank, very realistic looking

I will post some flap photos soon but for now here is the wing joint showing my 2 arrow shaft spars and speed brake servo setup. It is a JR DS3517 servo with a sailboat servo arm extension (cut down a little). The speed brake is made from thin aircraft aluminum hinged with large pin hinges (robart style from HK).

Yes Peter
no pilots yet.... but believe me they are coming very soon!

The photo credits should go to my father along with the paint and cockpit work. The camera was misbehaving but we managed to get some nice shots.

On a different topic we had another Turning DLUX 100A ESC fail in our L39 forcing a deadstick landing in the tall grass outside the runway. No magic smoke, just loss of thrust. Thankfully there was little damage other than stripped flap servos from the gear up landing.

Hey! That's exactly the same plane (ID etc) as mine!!! Thief!

The main gear legs seem longer though(?). My oleo's (is that what they are?) are mounted hard up against the retract trunion. No leg 'pin' (eg 4mm rod) exposed.
Same for the front leg - none of the 'pin' openly visible.
I can't measure from pics, but yours looks higher off the ground due to that. A bit like it is on stilts! LOL
I forget why I made new leg 'pins', but I think they gave 3mm ones (?) and I used 4mm ones.

What a nice big runway!!! I am jealous....
