I found an australian distributor for Ese-Kote.
Think I'll order some and give it a try.
A few you-tube videos on how to apply it and they make it look so easy.
Thanks for pointing it out jacojet.

This is where I usually order the eze-kote from.

I covered the sabre's vertical fin with eze-kote and the rest of the plane with epoxy, and I cannot feel or see any difference in hardness and stiffness. In fact, the eze-kote helps to prevent the pin-holes you usually get with epoxy.

Thanks Jacojet for the link, was looking high and low for someone who distributed this and being singa's postage is pretty cheap to Aussy.

How have you found their service and delivery times?

It takes around two weeks for delivery to South Africa, not any problems so-far.

Well, the chopped sabre flew today! Did not know what to expect, but it flew very well. Needed some right aileron trim and no elevator trim. Track straight and level at all throttle settings. speed is a HUGE improvement, cruising at 50% throttle puts it at about 150km/h(guessing) compared to my FlyFly EPO F4 phantom, which gets 150km/h at full throttle with 2000watts on 6s. Slow flight is still very good with no tip stall tendencies and landing was easy, even in cross wind. I tried a full throttle pass only for about 4 seconds and while it is slower than the mirage, it still looked very impressive and fast. All up weight: 3.85kg, CS fan 1500kv 700-68 motor on 8s and NO cheater. I am very impressed!

I am guessing the 514's (which is what I used).
Yes, for the mains I used the 514's:

For the nose I used the 5094:

The mains take all the abuse, the nose gear works well and has the same footprint as the stock units. Time will tell of course!

Paul,.
Who is the Australian distributor for esekote, that stuff looks very good. I have an epo F100 as well and am interested to know how the esekote goes on the foam. I assume you will be using .5oz cloth or similar??

Thanks in advance

Thanks Mike, and you are welcome! Good luck on your HUN, I recommend you get one!

Thanks Falcon5!

That's great erh7771, glad I inspired you! I would like to see some other jets, I personally think a large foam F-105 would be a good choice, because you could make it so light, but I know it will never happen. Looking forward to their next offering for sure.

*********
I've been very cautious with my flying times, initially starting out with just 2 minutes on the timer. On a 6s 4000 pack I used 40 percent of the battery after flying 2 minutes and then landing. Next I tried 6s 5000 packs and used 30 percent after 2 minutes.

My question is, what would be a safe flight time giving enough for a go around. What do you guys generally have left in the packs?

Thanks,

Luke

Fan-Tastic. I never get tired of seeing your Hun, just awesome. I'm so busy with work I'm dying to finish mine up! Soon... soon. As far as that F-105 comment, I'm all in bro. I'll be back in SAE camo with immediate effect.
