Prolly around 6lbs of thrust easy

Its a small setup. 6S 4000mAh pack. Medusa fan and HET Typhoon 600-37 motor. Its no P3 F-16 or Squall that runs 100+ but its scale looking.

I should've put quotes around mine, that's not my set up...

I have a TACON 40mm x 74mm 2000kv care motor in one of the Haoye 6 blade shrouds with a Fly Fly 6 blade rotor...2000watts easy around 7.5plds of get gone.

I would love to get a video of mine but it has to be going 100 straight

Wow you guys had some serious chat going on. Who's still building?

I picked up my build again, a few weeks ago. Feeling sick right now but I'll get going on it again next week. I've done some cutting - I cut out about 2.75" from the forward fuse to make it look like a single seater in profile. I also bought a Keith Sparks canopy for a single seater. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'm ready to start glassing. (I bought a EPS version to glass it. Now that I have seen EPO for myself not sure if I'd do it again!!)

The fuse shortening required a little bit of foam inserts to make the forward section as wide and tall as the fuse is normally at the wing. But it was pretty easy to do. I have a lot Pink Corning foam from the hardward store - enough to fabricate shims like this mod needed for years to come Right now I still have to mount my nose gear module (removable) and then I'll be ready to glass the fuse - wings and tail surfaces are ready to go too.

I was supposed to be scaling mine out with AB lights, head lights fueling probe, front and main gear doors, cockpit lights and some better scale dragging gear but you know how it is... once you get it up in the air.

Thinking about doing a 12s 1100kv rc lander or putting one of my older fans on 7s with it to get around 10lbs of thrust either way. This is a big foamy, worth pushing it to it's limits.

The CS 12blade is a lil too quite for me in this fuse cause the exhaust walls don't flex.

Great, thanks.

Hey, has anyone glued in their horizontal stabs permanent and just made this thing with elevators? I like the flying stab "idea" but I don't really care for the attachment method. I've made a mod or two to improve it, but I'm hesitating about the strength and precision of it as a flight control still.

I thought about that when I built mine and I'm glad that I went with the all moving setup, you really need all that surface area back there , I wanted to have lots of throw and dial it back as needed , ended up using it all. I opened up the plastic insert a bit to allow for more travel and used a long cap screw instead of the provided part , also put in fishing weights to balance them ,
and do grind a flat spot on the shaft.

Been bashing this plane for over a year now without any problems back there .

I'm still building, some people that have been following this thread a little longer know that I scaled out one in Vietnam green and brown and it turned out really nice, well it lasted 30 seconds when my brand new JR 9 channel radio decided early on in the flight that it should completely unbound. I had nothing to do but watch it fly off and into the ground.

So I've gotten over it and I'm already well on my way with #2! It will be silver this time with some yellow lightening bolts down the side with a Futaba radio.
