you fly your F-100. If it's the 6 blade rotor, I believe that they come
balanced, but to be sure you better check it out.

The thrust you are getting seems adequate, but what is your flying
weight, total watts & amps at WOT? 1:1 thrust vs. weight is always
good.
It's the 7 blade fan, they are hard t balance and I'm more scared of the thing grenading because the spinner is so off balance but there's a way to dynamically balance them with vibration meters and that's what I did

Here`s a couple of picts Boomer. Hope you can tell what`s what. I took the wing off to help cut slots for the NLG mount plates. I made 1 for each side, then cut slots. As you can see the steering servo is mounted in a recess I cut on the rt. aft side of the NLG well. The MLG was easy, just had to drill 2 new screw holes thru the metal Fly Fly Mt. plate. Hope this helps. The Old big nosed Chief

Those are the Eflite 15-25 electric retracts? Thanks for posting the pictures. What do you think of the durability?

Eddie Yes they are the 15-25 Eflite`s Durability has been excellent. Much better than others I have had. I have the small size on an old HL F-5 that has seen a lot of abuse and they are still going strong. Beak

Hi Beak, sorry to ask again but what weights are you flying at and what's your landing surface in your experience with the 15-25 Eflite's? Thanks a ton.

Eddie I`m flying at 6lbs 10oz I have flown off grass and hard surface. The grass was short ( about 1 1/2 in) The hard surface has been smooth to rather rough. With the exception of spring airs these are one of the sturdiest gear sets out there. Hope that helps. Here`s a pict from E-Jets Int. Me and my Hun are on the Rt. Big nose under the hat, tail # 913 on the Hun. Beak

I am a sucker for this baby but have a few questions:

1) Are the Wings removalable??
2) Whats a good 5s set up? I have 5s 5000 30c lipos.
3) whats the ROG distance?
4) Whats the landing speed? (gotta hit a 12 foot wide 350 foot paved road)

Answers to#580...

1) Yes, one piece
2) HET motor and fan recommended at EJF.com. You'll want 6S.
3) ROG on 5S - a mile ROG on 6S, about 100 feet or so depending on weight
4) She floats on landing - your road is fine.

Thanks Beak! Love that picture, looks like you guys had a blast flying formation. I wish I could get guys that live by me to do some formation training, either they fly too erratic to practice or they don't want to do it. It's a lot of fun when you can get a routine gong though.

I went ahead and bought some 15-25 size Eflite gear, let's hope they hold up with my 8s and glassed foam airframe! The plus side is I plan to only fly off pavement.

Got everything weighed and it's gonna be 6pds 4oz....

Will ~4.5pds give good scale flight or is it really underpowered?

TIA,

With my F-4 Phantom and my F-86 I had a flying weight
of between 4 1/2 and 5 pounds. Here is the setup I used.

Motor - Ammo 1800Kv
EDF - FlyFly housing with the midi fan 5 blade rotor
ESC - Castle Phoenix 80A with the CCBEC
Rx - Spektrum AR7000
Tx - DX7
Li-Po - Enerland 30C 6S1P 4550mAh

Watt meter results @ WOT = 65A / 23.4V / 1300W

So, I'm getting about 290+/- watts per pound which gives just about 6-8
minutes of flying time with good throttle management. The flight speed
is just right for me; not slow at all, but not a speed demon either. If your
thrust is about 1:1, you should not have any problems. I still suggest that
you hook up a watt meter and see what results you get. This is a good way
to be sure of your power system.
