Nobody builds as fast as my son .. We got the escs he needed today and he got them wired into his power system ... It's 2- GWS 2808 1700kv on GWS 8x4 2 blade props w/ 2-10 A Hobby Wing escs. It watt meters at 15A 180 watts on a 1300ma 3s 40c Sky Li-po ... It might not hover or climb verticle on these motors but it should fly . It's almost done

Mine is not the lightest build and like your son's it is set up with the same power (about 180 watts). Mine does hover and has plenty of power for whatever else you want to do so unless his build is really heavy you are going to love it. BTW, I started flying mine with GWS 7035x3 props but they were too small for the 1400kV motors I use. I replaced them with GWS 8040x3s to get the 180w and it made a world of difference.

My heavy duty Twins performed admirably in 15 mph with gusting today
UNTIL I blew a low level pullout and just scrapped off the Lower 25% of the fuse !!!

Sigh ...

Oh well !

Bummer bird... easily fixed though right?
just wrapping up the fuse of my customized twin. Notice the extra 7" of fuse length. Working on the bomb bay now

Not easily fixed unless you want to fly a Puzzle :-(

I know a guy up in Washington who sells a nice kit that can get you back in the air in no time.

Right you are !!!
Problem is that stupid machine doesn't do a thing that I don't TELL IT TO DO.
Then I gotta stand there a make sure it's not having a "senior Moment" ya know

I am working on F&T's Quad Tilt rotor version of the Twins fuse ( Sorta) .
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1506613

Not to mention a BIG 86" version of the Eagle flying Bird from 5 sheets of MPF foam,
with ribs set up for 6mm CF tubing spars top and bottom.

I also have one of those 70mm 10 blade edfs that is screaming to be used in something.
Probably a light but large F-86.

Twins repairs are way down on the list at the moment. sigh ...

Oh and LOOK "it's almost August" !!!
Summer around here "JUST" started only recently.

arg arg and double arg !

However, I'm still having fun
