Are the D47s still the favorite servo for this build?
Lipo or Nicd? Sizes?
If I go lipo and D47 do I need a voltage regulator?
Current preferred epoxy? And do I need more than one type?

Thanks for any and all help.
i used airtronics micro servers, they are high quality. lipo 330 mah 2s 7.4 v
you will need 5 min epoxy 30 min epoxy and 1 hr epoxy. for 1 hr i recomend west systems. for the faster epoxy, i dont know. Have fun building and take your time. Also you will need CA and accelerator. And a good ruler. And little lead weights to put in the nose. BBs work good. good luck!

Get the lightest full range reciever. I use airtronics sd- 6g with rx 600. Very fast with plenty of mixes. it sounds like you already have a transmitter though...

Jason,

Which Airtronics servos did you use in your pod? I'm trying to squeeze 802s into mine. Any pictures?

I just visited the TopSky site and found this. This will help tremendiously getting those tail feathers installed correctily.

My Super just showed up at my door today. When I get home, ... I'll check it out and start a build thread on it.

Fast servo's are not required for DLG's. A std speed of .2 is fine. You want torque not speed.

Responsive and DLG's are the same thing. Fast servos will not change that. Fast servo's that give up torque will not withstand the launch stresses. During a thermal search fast fingers will get you nothing. If you want an aerobatic DLG you will be disapointed. The size of the ailerons act very much like boat anchors when you go for the double roll.

I bought a used topsky 1 from here and the aileron servos make alot of noise so I want to replace them what is a good servo for this aplication? The one that are in it have a purple case have no idea what they are. Thanks

Some digital servos make noise. Make sure they are not digitals and use a deflection gage to match the two servos for their motion. If they work and they are in unison leave them there and buy as good set of wing servos for when these are trashed or you buy your next topsky 2
