Hey Kin, I still think the non scale rivets does this fuselage a disservice. It would look a lot lot better without the rivets than with them. Besides that its a nice piece.

Thanks Darth,

We have taken your advice and will be filling in the rivets on the next molds.

In mine thoughts yes and no, in the gelcoat ver yes, than the choice is up to the builder to do the fuse as scalish as they wish, but with a painted ver I still think the impression is very good, have upptill now just seen it on the pics
but if to put rivets on a painted version I think is not a god choice due a repaintning is to be done, using the starwood kit for riveting could work, but just the thought to paint about 1500 rivets with a brush makes me dissy, also everyone has different prerequisites, skills and time to forefill a job like that.

Well, my thinking is ( I use to work on and around helis) Kin an the gang make a nice looking scale body and on these size bodies if the rivet detailing was true to scale that would mean that these rivets would represent rivets about an inch or two in diameter. Even in most photos you dont even see the rivets on real heli because they are so small. The oversize rivets or the holes for rivets make the heli look pretty much toy like. On the real helis you dont even take note or realize the rivets until you are up close to the heli. I just think it would yield a nicer looking body without them than with them being the size that they are.

Well .. the first thing I will do is to fill the rivets, base paint my body and do my own riveting again. Keeping the 4,500 rivets on the SeaKing in my mind, I guess I'll end up with round about 7,000 on the Hind. But it's fun and I bet it will look really good, if they are small enough.

Well, when im finnished with the fuse its gone be wetheread and look really nice I think, still this is a semicale model, the retracts arent correct and probably many other things to, the important thing is the impression in the air, russian helis arent famous for theres shiny look

Cheers
