Fujimi has some 1:24 scale race car figures. Tamiya had some 1:25 scale WWII German army figures. You may have to modify some 1:24 scale figures available for car models.

G-Gauge model railroad figures range from 1:20.23 to 1:29. You should be able to find some figures that would fit the 1:24 scale you are interested in. Check the scale of the figures when you go this route, "G-gauge" does not define the scale.

I converted my Pro Boats PT-109 to a late war weapons fit. I ordered Mk 13 torps and launchers, 40mm, 37mm, 20mm, .50cal MGs, radar mast, ammo lockers, and more from John Haynes. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of the fittings--a mix of resin and metal. I ordered direct form the UK--I found the service to be terrific. (I'm in the USA)

I would definitely order from John Haynes again in the future, without hesitation.

I've searched though a ton of G scale figure catalogs. I have yet to find a suitable figure for use as a PT boat crewman. Most of the G scale figures seem to be pot bellied railroad guys in overalls, or women and children passengers.

I did buy the Fujimi 1.24 scale mechanics set-- I think I'll get one, maybe two crew figures out of the set of four. One problem the figures have is their 70s style haircuts-- really too long for WW2 crewman. I think I'll try to vacform a couple of helmets to hide it...
