So where's the cheapest place to get that since I tend to mangled them fairly quick...still trying to decide whether to get extra parts from hk right now.

Thanks, I may have to wait on this until I can take a closer look at these items as waiting for HK is no fun anymore.

New 20A ESC on the way?

Guys I noticed a new breed of ESC in the HK website. Do you think they will start making this esc in 20A?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ontroller.html

Features:
• Powerful 5.5V/6A Switching BEC
• Optional programming card for convenient setup
• ESC had separate programming lead built-in so there is no need to unplug from RX
• Super fine throttle resolution provides first-rate and highly accurate linearity
• Super smooth adjustable start-up mode
• Constant RPM mode (governor mode)
• Adjustable F3A brake.
• 3 steps adjustable normal EMF brake
• High anti-interference capability
• Low voltage cut-off protection with automatic adjustment for NiCd/NiMH/Li-Ion/LiPo/LiFePO4
• Soft cut-off option at low voltage, slows motor RPM gradual rather than hard cutoff (LVC)
• Low voltage cut-off can be disabled
• Variable cut-off voltage / cell
• Active free-wheeling circuit allows for unlimited "partial load" capability
• LED status display
• Adjustable motor timing from 0 to 30
• Blocked rotation protection (senses a jammed motor and stops motor rotation)
• Motor reversing from ESC (no need to change ESC/motor wires)
• Over-temperature protection and overload alarm
• Anti sparking circuit: reduces connection sparks (for HV ESC)
• Throttle signal lose protection. If the signal is lost for 3 seconds, the power will automatically cut-off.
• Safe power-on. (Motor will not start until throttle is returned to lowest position)

***This ESC is compatible with both helicopter and airplane models.***

Specification:
Max Cont Current: 45A
Max Burst Current: 55A for 10 seconds
Input Voltage: 2-6 cells li-XX or 6-16 Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery
BEC: 5.5V/6A Switching BEC
PWM: 8~16 KHz
Max RPM: 240,000rpm for 2 Poles Brushless Motor
PCB Size: 50x30mm
Weight: 63g (including wires)

I can't wait to see this in 20A!!

Looks like they are getting ready for all the fbl systems with the 6A BEC.
I don't know about the Blocked rotation protection. Look like another possible problem with people like me with high cog motors. Even my CC has problems with soft start and the Align 450mx motor. We will have to see.

The torque tube has arrived!

First there is the directions that don't tell you much. It seems you have to not only cut the carbon fiber rod yourself to size (no measurement given) but you also have to sand down the ends to fit and glue into the holders.

As little as possible I'd say. Whenever you crash, you should probably just do the right thing and buy Align spare parts. That way the helicopter will become only better and better.

I'd grab carbon fiber blades from HK if you want them, but for more crucial parts like tail drive shaft you'll need a better quality part than HK provides even in the kit.

Same is true for the belt and the feathering shaft that's effectively a bit too soft. I wouldn't waste money on buying those.

It has already started. It seems the kit will not work with most tail side plates. My Value and HK sides are not long enough for the spur gear to clear the back support. I put in a order for the Tarot belt unit. It has to work I don't think they would of designed it for the Align sides and not their own. So now we are in another $13

Its easy to get them to a reasonable size, but why not simply use the old ones you've still got from the original kit you're flying with? I'd use them as spares to be honest.

Judged by the images, there isn't that much to the build at all. So cheer up and get on it! You'll like it!

On a better note I got my 250 back up after the pinion accident and everything seems to be fine. The 30 foot fast forward drop didn't seem to hurt it a bit. tuff little bird.
