A real nice building ARF, this one.

Ready to mount the engine. Still deciding on mounting orientation. Perhaps upside down.

I mounted it inverted. Looks good. Maidened it today. Took a little down elevator for level flight. CoG was around 98. Moved it forward to 92. Will see.

Very fast with the Saito 91 swinging a a 3-blade 13x8.

hey, nice video! i keep kicking myself for not buying this plane when Tower had it on sale last year...I think it was like $140. i surely will build one eventually. i would do it with slime power though. or maybe one of those little gas engines if the prop clearance is enough.

be sure to use those wheel pants!!

Nah, just a quick wipe down and your good to go. messing around with the engine is fun and the smoke/noise is a nice perk.

+1.

It's a cute, cute, cute, cute plane, but it needs the wheel pants.

Mine is still in great shape, after many flights. Fun toy!

I'm just starting this plane now. I have a 4020-8 Scorpion that I plan on putting in it, running 6S and a 10x8 prop. Glad to see the thread is coming alive again!

wheel pants check!
the arf comes with 1-1/4x5/32" Axle
it needs a least 1-4/8x5/32" axle
and the lock nut won't tighten on enough to lock into the nylon
but the next size up is 2 " long
i will just cut off the extra

a 4020-8 Scorpion oh that's nice mjb_18
it should take off like a helicopter
is that the Scorpion HKIII-4020-1350KV Motor
or the Scorpion S-4020-8 790KV
just to give you the heads up the spec for the 790KV say Max Lipo Cell 5s
http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalo.../s40/S-4020-8/

i like big motors !
