Quick Question -- F5B Hotliner Throttle

I'm new to the hotliner scene; I just purchased a Nan Models Enigma (otherwise known as Alex I think) from SUSA. Anyway, my question is this ... why is it neccessary to have digital (on/off only) throttle? Why not use variable throttle (left stick) like I do on all my other planes? Is it because the electronics are being severely abused and can only take 3-5 seconds at a time?

Any comments much appreciated. Thanks!!

Most prefer to use the throttle stick for flaps/crow. No real need for variable throttle in f5b style flying. Easy to just put it on a switch.

Run an ESC over it's continues rating and then try part throttle for a while...... be ready to cram the smoke back into the ESC.
