Hi Jeff! Very interesting wing -- I'm considering it for a slope soaring rig. Do you have or provide recommendations for set-up, CG, elevon size and location, vertical stabs and the like, or do you just provide the wing? I'm game either way but the decision would be a lot easier if I had a baseline for some of these specs before starting, and I haven't found a build thread here setting up the Starfire as a sloper.

slope mods

Hey guys

For those sloping, take the beta build thread with the increased depth elevon and larger winglets.

I would use three CF Tubes as the spar system in an "A" shape if you are going to be loading it up with lead for penetration and speed. My thin walled dual spar was not enough for the high speed set up. Anything over 100 mph needs the thick walled cf tubes.

If it is going to be a lighter sloper, use one thick walled 1/4 cf tube (bottom of wing) or two 1/4 light walled tubes (one top and one bottom).

I would not hesitate to use the Kellys cloth with the spray 77 (will not attack the white foam main core like the spray 90 will). Cover it with Monocoat or Ultracoat and you are ready to rock! The weight is not that much greater in the end and the gain in durability is nothing short of amazing.
